Sri Nagarala Sri Maha Lakshmi Ammavaru Temple

This temple is located in the area of Chittinagar in Vijayawada. Devoted to Goddess Lakshmi, this temple holds a special place in the hearts of devotees.The deity is believed to have miraculous powers and is said to bestow happiness in the lives of the devotees. This temple is managed by the Nagaralu community. One of the most popular temples in Vijayawada, this shrine is a common spot of visit among devotees during the Dussehra festival.

ISKCON in Vijayawada

Located in the serene lush greenery of Undavalli Village in Vijayawada, the ISCKON temple is dedicated to Radha Krishna, the avatars of Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi on earth. Like most other ISCKON temples, this temple is devoted to understanding the motives of Bhakti and true surrender to the Lord. The campus has bookstores devoted to various scriptures on the idea of Bhakti and devotion.

Subramanya Swamy Temple

Located at the foot of the Indrakiladri Hills and by the side of the Krishna river, this temple is a must visit for its picturesque location. During the Skanda Shashti Festival, this temple is visited by devotees from Tamil Nadu. This temple is maintained by the Iddipilli family.

Balasubramanya Temple

This temple is situated atop a hill and can be reached by climbing 350 odd steps. This temple is famous among believers to help them find their life partners. One of the common beliefs in these regions is that within 41 odd days of visiting the Lord of this temple one is sure to meet his/ her life partner. This temple is visited by devotees mostly on Tuesdays. This temple is open on all days from 6 am to 11 am in the mornings and 5pm to 9 pm in the evenings. One needs to have about a couple of hours in hands to complete the visit to this temple.

Apart from the above mentioned temples which are huge crowd pullers, Vijayawada has numerous other temples devoted to the deities of the land. Some of the most popular ones are Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Yanamalakuduru Konda, Venkateswara Swamy Temple located in Labbipet, Ayyappa Swamy Temple located in Ajit Nagar, Sai Baba Temple in Madhura Nagar, Dasanjaneya Swamy Temple in Machavaram and Sri Parwathi Sametha Rama Lingeswara Swamy Temple in Mutyalampadu. In the town of Mangalagiri, lies the largest Jain temple of the region namely, HiInkar Tirtha and another temple namely Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple; both of these temples are popular tourist destinations.
